Buddha Shakyamuni Retreat - October 2010 Lama Pema Dragpa is coming to Chicago! We are very pleased to announce that Lama Pema Dragpa is coming to Chicago to lead a special meditation retreat on Buddha Shakyamuni. _____________ The Wisdom and Compassion of the Buddha Meditation Retreat Friday, Oct. 8th 7-9pm | Saturday, 10am-12 & 2-5pm Truc Lam Temple, 1521 W Wilson Over 2,600 years ago, Buddha Shakyamuni gave teachings on how to remove the causes of all suffering and difficulties, and to reveal the essential goodness of ourselves and others. During this retreat, we will learn about the twelve deeds of the Buddha and meditate according to the Blessing Treasure: A Sadhana of the Buddha Shakyamuni by Mipham Rinpoche, as it was taught by Venerable Khenchen Palden Sherab Rinpoche and Khentrul Tsewang Dongyal Rinpoche, great Nyingma masters and scholars who founded the Padmasambhava Buddhist Center which has chapters in over 20 cities in the USA, Russia, Canada, and Puerto Rico, plus monasteries in India, Russia, and at their main stateside monastery and retreat center Padma Samye Ling in upstate New York. Lama Pema Dragpa has been a student of the Khenpo Rinpoches for over six years, closely studying with them at Padma Samye Ling monastery. He has been asked by the Khenpo Rinpoches to begin teaching the Dharma. Suggested donation: $25 for the entire retreat or $15 a day.
